Why it exist here
WHY IT EXIST HERE
The Strait of Magellan is a biologically active marine corridor shaped by wind systems, cold currents, and seasonal breeding cycles. Isla Magdalena hosts one of southern Chile’s largest Magellanic penguin colonies. Tierra del Fuego hosts a continental King Penguin colony. These locations reflect Patagonia’s marine ecosystem, not isolated attractions.

Recent seasons have highlighted how wind patterns, visitor flow, and conservation oversight directly shape penguin access in the Strait. Local planning considers these realities.
